Hope is being able to see that there is light
despite all of the darkness.
Desmond Tutu
It is fleeting, this glimpse we catch of dolphin gracefully gliding through the ocean waters.
The visible is there but for a moment yet we keep our eyes searching, waiting for more.
Another flicker of hope.
A kind word from a store clerk.
A driver waving me in front of him when I need to get over.
A smile from a stranger.
Glimpses of hope. Maybe in spite of the news littered with violence and doom, maybe there is hope.
Our eyes continue searching for the dolphin to resurface. To delight us with its grace and curve of its mouth that looks like a smile. Like the innocence of a baby we see hope.
I am intentional in finding this spark. A flicker, a glimpse to remind me to keep hoping.
Wait with hope. Hope now; hope always!
Psalm 131:3b The Message
Yes! Thanks for the reminder to keep looking for the good. It’s always there. Grateful for your words!
Seems I’m the one who needs the reminders most. Grateful for your friendship.
What a lovely comparison! I’ll keep looking as well. My hope is often found in your words!
As mine are often in your words as well. Thank you.
i hear you whispering, ‘be the dolphin …’, Debby.
Yes, Linda, definitely yes.
